Aperture 8.12 alludes to the idea of how aperture works on a camera. The aperture is the opening of a lens's diaphragm through which light passes. The larger the aperture number, the more light comes into the lens. Things we don't normally see with the naked eye are captured when we alter the aperture and the amount of time we leave the lens open. This allows photographers to capture images of our Milky Way Galaxy in stunning detail, as well as the aurora borealis (northern lights).

In a similar way, when we allow more of Jesus' light into our lives, we discover depths and wisdom reserved for those who dig deeper. The 8.12 makes reference to John 8:12:

"Jesus spoke to them again: I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life." (CSB)

I have been a follower of Jesus, the light of the world, since I was five. I was born in Puerto Rico, and have been living in Georgia since 2006, producing multiple creative projects, raising two daughters, and working as a writer and translator.

My hope is that through the Scriptures and stories shared, you are encouraged in your walk with Jesus and, if you haven't met Him yet, that you may be led to make the most important decision in your life.

My stories are real, they are part of the plan and destiny that God has designed for my life and the way I have learned more about my Savior. However, as I grow older, I realize that I barely know Him yet, and that here on Earth, I will never fully understand God's greatness and His unexplainable love for us.

This is Aperture 812, a brief look at the world through my lens and the light of Scriptures.

In His love,

Karenlie
